I would like to stop smoking cold turkey. Im afraid of going for food while doing this and getting fat. Is their anything I can do or take so I don’t go for food as a substitution? And is it safe to stop cold turkey?

My wife stopped smoking cold turkey. Well, she didn’t smoke cold turkey…. well, you know what i mean. LOL
It takes a lot of self discipline and she went thru some wild moods swings. But we got through it. Try chewing gum or chewing on straws if you have the urge. I’ve never smoked a cig in my life, so i don’t understand the addiction. But you can beat it!!
just quit.. dont think about it and never ever have another one. thats all there is to it! all the quit smoking aids are crap and just make ya wanna smoke again
My son uses the nicotine patches. His appetite hasn’t changed. Quit smoking whatever the outcome.
I am in your same boat. I have set my quit date for next Monday, October 23rd. I have spoken to numerous people about information on quiting smoking and the best available is this site http://www.whyquit.com. This man have been doing this program for years and the site has a whole book on it. It’s really helpful and it’s free. As far as quiting cold turkey, it’s the best way. I guess the first 3 days are the hardest then after that cravings diminsh alot. Yes, it’s safe to quit cold turkey unless you are smoking lots like 2 or 3 packs a day.
As far as the substituting food for smokes, allow yourself to eat a bit more til you get over the initial cravings. It’s better to put on a few pounds then die of a heart attack, lung cancer or the numerous other health problems that may occur.
Good luck and keep me informed of your progress 🙂
Go to the health food store and talk to a health advisery and they should help you in this aspect cause im in the same situation also tring to QUIT that baddddd habit also.
