I have smoked pot for about 5 years pretty heavily. I am 21 and in college and i REALLY want to stop smoking pot…… but i cant! I’ve tried and in a week or two i find myself smoking again.

theres something wrong with you if you cant quit. ive know ppl to smoke heavily for twenty years and quit without a second thought. and never known nobody to never give up.
OK, first of all, pot isn’t even addictive. I know. I’ve smoked it before for many years, stopped for almost 5 years now because I could care less either way, had a joint last week… and oh wow!! I’m not addicted. Get a life, Seriously.
Take yourself out of the environment. If its easily accesible you’ll have problems quitting. Its actually a lot easier than you think. You just can’t be near it. You’ll hit a bowl without even realizing just because its your pattern.
Pot is not physically addictive, just mentally.
So, have some self control.
Grow up and have a little will power – if you really want to stop, you will.
JOIN A GYM AND WORK OUT DAILY
CHEW GUM AND GET FRIENDS WHO DONT SMOKE POT
STOP SEEING YOUR DEALER
DONT SMOKE FREE POT/TAKE FREE POT
SAVE YOUR POT MONEY FOR SOMETHING ELSE ( BIG SCREEN) NEW CAR……….WHATEVER SET A GOAL
IN 5 YRS YOU HAVE SMOKED A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY….DO YOU WANT TO SPEND THAT SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THE NEXT 5 YRS?? THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS
its all in your head, control it.
it doesn`t mean there is anything wrong with you,if you really want to quit do it,w/o thought, stay away from people or things that trigger your cravings
Man, I feel your pain i’m currently going though the same thing its like people just don’t know its like your routine. what u think about before bed and when you get up.
I’m also a nursing student and i can function normally with it….no one suspects it at all but underneath it all that’s pretty much all I do..yes, it is expensive but at the time you don’t care about the money till its gone..I’ve tried to stop before and was good 4 about 4 months. then back again.
I wish they had some type of pill that could ween you off like cigarettes but no one really research’s it well. I think im gonna see a psychologist for some prozac or xanax as needed to help the process.
GOOOOOD LUCK. i feel your pain!!!
The more you fight it the more you will want to. It’s not physically addictive, so you don’t want to stop. Is it that you feel guilty or something? You don’t have to stop smoking if you don’t really want to. If it’s because of a urinary analysis then get a drink or fake urine.
I’ve smoked for over 5 years and i quit for months at a time w.o problem, it is a mental addiction not a physical one so find another habit or learn some more self control/discipline. Not too sure why your so dead set on quiting, if i feel like stopping for awhile i do but I’ve never had any intention to quit for good.
