Cigarette Smoking Rate Declining

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)cigarette smoking is the leading cause behind various diseases. Reportedly,cigarette smoking, has killed about 480,000 Americans as per a calculation on annual basis. CDC says that cigarette smoking is at all time lower since the department started to keep track of the habit among Americans.

 

 

According to CDC records, about 17.8 percent adults got engaged in smoking in the past year that is much more less if we compare it to the past record of 2005 when about 20.9 percent people participated in cigarette smoking. The 1965 record of CDC shows that about 42.4 percent people were engaged in cigarette smoking.

Another report that is published in US News & World Report says that cigarette smoking has also a negative impact on the economy of the country. The habit costs about $289 per year to the United States for loss of productivity and in medical care.
